Terms & Conditions

Birds of Paradise Terms & Conditions apply to all passengers who purchase services directly with Birds of Paradise or through third-party travel agents or partners.

  1. FIRST CLAUSE – Payments

Birds of Paradise requires payment confirmation to secure all travel services.

1.1 Payments

An invoice will be issued by email upon booking confirmation.

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm the reservation.
  • The remaining 50% balance must be paid 30 days prior to departure.
  • Any reservations made wit less than 30 days prior to departure must be paid in full in order to confirm it.
  • Clients must confirm payment receipt by email once payment has been completed at contact@birdsofparadisedmc.com.
  • Final service vouchers and travel confirmation will be sent within the following business day.

1.2 Extra Services or Extensions

For additional services or extensions:

  • Extra services such as additional nights, day tours, flights, or transfers require 100% payment at the time of booking.
  • Purchases made less than 24 hours before service require immediate full payment.
  • Standard Terms & Conditions do not apply to these short extensions.

Important:

  • Tailor-made trips of four days or more are subject to these Terms & Conditions.
  • Extra services are not confirmed until full payment is received.

1.3 Payment Methods

Birds of Paradise accepts the following payment methods:

  • Bank transfer
  • WeTravel
  • Credit card payments

Transaction fees may apply depending on the payment platform used. These fees are charged by financial institutions or payment processors and are not controlled by Birds of Paradise.

  1. SECOND CLAUSE – Insurance

Basic travel insurance coverage is included in all itineraries and tours operated by Birds of Paradise.

However, travelers are strongly encouraged to obtain their own comprehensive international travel insurance policy covering:

  • Medical expenses
  • Trip cancellation
  • Personal accidents
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Baggage protection

Personal insurance policies often provide broader coverage limits than included operational insurance.

  1. THIRD CLAUSE – Passports & Visas

All travelers must:

  • Hold a passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond travel dates.
  • Obtain any required visas prior to travel.

Visa requirements and fees are the sole responsibility of the traveler and are not included in tour prices.

  1. FOURTH CLAUSE – Itinerary Disclaimer

Birds of Paradise intends to operate all itineraries as described. However, minor modifications may be necessary due to operational, safety, or environmental conditions.

Changes may occur due to:

  • Weather conditions
  • Safety conditions
  • Security conditions
  • Local regulations
  • Transportation schedules
  • Availability of services

Birds of Paradise reserves the right to modify accommodations, transportation, or activities when necessary while maintaining equivalent service standards.

Wildlife sightings or specific natural events mentioned in itineraries cannot be guaranteed.

  1. FIFTH CLAUSE – Suggested Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is voluntary but customary within the tourism industry.

Restaurants and hotels may include a 10% service charge, which does not apply to guides, drivers, or local tourism staff.

Suggested tipping ranges (per person per day):

  • Tour guide: USD $10
  • Driver: USD $5

These amounts are recommendations only and remain at the traveler’s discretion.

  1. SIXTH CLAUSE – Accommodation & Transportation

6.1 Birds of Paradise reserves the right to substitute accommodations with similar or higher-category properties when operationally necessary.

6.2 Accommodation pricing is based on known occupancy. Single supplements may apply.

6.3 Domestic transportation schedules and flight operations are subject to change without prior notice by service providers.

  1. SEVENTH CLAUSE – Not Included

Unless explicitly stated, tour prices do not include:

  • Passport or visa fees
  • International airport taxes
  • Excess baggage charges
  • Personal insurance policies
  • Gratuities
  • Optional activities
  • Beverages
  • Food
  • Personal expenses
  • Any item not specifically listed in the itinerary inclusions

Birds of Paradise reserves the right to adjust pricing in case of unexpected increases in:

  • Government taxes
  • Fuel surcharges
  • Entrance fees
  • Currency fluctuations
  • Operational costs beyond company control

  1. EIGHTH CLAUSE – Cancellations & Alterations

8.1 Cancellation Policy

Cancellation penalties are calculated based on the total invoice amount:

  • Up to 30 days before travel: 50% cancellation fee
  • 30 – 5 days before travel: 80% cancellation fee
  •  5 days or less are considered no-shows: 100% cancellation fee

Special promotions, discounted departures, or third-party bookings may be subject to stricter cancellation conditions.

8.2 Force Majeure Events

Birds of Paradise cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:

  • Pandemics or epidemics
  • Political unrest
  • Natural disasters
  • Severe weather conditions
  • Government restrictions
  • Airspace or transportation closures

In such cases:

  • Name changes may be allowed up to 60 days before departure (excluding flights).
  • Compensation or refunds beyond recoverable services cannot be guaranteed.

8.3 Alterations

  • Client-requested itinerary changes are subject to availability and may incur cancellation penalties on existing services.
  • Date changes may be permitted depending on availability and may incur into additional administrative fees.
  • Voluntary early departure from a tour results in 100% cancellation of remaining services.

  1. NINTH CLAUSE – Consumer Disclosure & Responsibility

Birds of Paradise acts as an intermediary between travelers and independent service providers including hotels, airlines, transport companies, guides, and local operators.

Birds of Paradise shall not be held liable for:

  • Delays or cancellations caused by airlines or suppliers
  • Weather conditions
  • Government actions
  • Third-party criminal acts
  • Mechanical failures
  • Strikes or operational disruptions


If necessary for passenger safety or operational reasons, itinerary adjustments may be made without compensation.

No refund will be granted for unused portions of the trip once travel has commenced.

Birds of Paradise reserves the right to refuse participation or cancel bookings when deemed necessary for operational, safety, or behavioral reasons.

Any disputes arising from services purchased shall be governed by applicable national laws and jurisdiction where Birds of Paradise operates.
